I Corinthians 6:19b-20
Ye are not your own. For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

When Love Breaks Your Heart
Says he'll be there forever
Says his love will never be severed
Says his heart will always be mine
Changes his mind
In a minute of heartache
And brings sudden death to my soul
My heart is broken
Bleeding, open
Torn, poured out
Laid bare
Such emotion
Holds so tightly
To your wounded heart
You try to sleep
But you can't breathe
The ache pierces through
The hurt so real
When love sheds no tears
But breaks your heart
She lives in a sewage line under town
Her parents have died or cannot be found
She fights from day to day just to live
But her heart has a home her soul found a place ]
Where she can rest and look in Jesus face
He brings rest for the weak and the weary
My heart is broken
Bleeding, open
Torn, poured out
Laid bare
Such emotion
Holds so tightly
To your wounded heart
You try to sleep
But you can't breathe
The ache pierces through
The hurt so real
When love sheds no tears
But breaks your heart

Always Be Your Dad
I wish I could have been there to protect you
When you appeared on the scene
I wish I could have been there when you were
Three, ten, thirteen, and sixteen
I wish I could have rocked you in my arms
When you were young
I wish I could have sang to you a lullaby
With the words all wrong
I couldn't be there from the start
But I can promise from my heart
I will be there in good times and sad
Wherever you are in the world
I'll always be your dad
I wish I could have kept you from the hurt
The fear, the shame
I wish I could have held your hand
And given you my name
I wish that things were different
That all your memories were sweet
I wish that you were always mine
And that your heart felt more complete
I couldn't be there from the start
But I can promise from my heart
I will be there in good times and sad
Wherever you are in the world
I'll always be your dad
I will be there for the rest of my life
I will be there when you become a wife
I will be there when you become a mother
I will be a good grandfather
I couldn't be there from the start
But I can promise from my heart
I will be there in good times and sad
Wherever you are in the world
I'll always be your dad

My Only Wish
Dinner's over
The sun has set
The lights go out
It's time for bed
Daddy will be home
Too early it seems
I hate it when he's home
It's then you hear the hearts scream
He fights with mom
Heads to his room
Trouble's brewing
It will be here soon
It's late at night
When I'm scared the most
That's when I'm frightened
Don't let Daddy in
Is it too much to ask
Is it too hard to find
A pure and devoted love
Is it rare to come by
I don't ask for the world
Just a hand to hold
Through the good and the bad
My only wish is for a dad
The sun's just coming up
The door slowly opens
He comes, he goes
And leaves a girl that's broken
His passion quelled
His anger gone
His little girl
Has no shoulder to cry on
Mama ignores her cries for help
Such pain most have never felt
Daddy hurts again and again
Her poor broken heart can find no friend
With the passing of time
Her pain becomes dulled
She becomes a willing victim
Her heart has been fooled
Is it too much to ask
Is it too hard to find
A pure and devoted love
Is it rare to come by
I don't ask for the world
Just a hand to hold
Through the good and the bad
My only wish is for a dad
A father
A dad
Such tormenting words
Seems so bad
Who would want one
I've seen what they are for
They take what they want
And only come back
When they want more
Love seems an empty word
A passing phrase
"I love you" He whispered
That drew her gaze
What does He want
Is what first crossed her mind
But His hand was not threatening
His face was kind
He said He loved her laugh
Kept her tears in a bottle
Gave her a hug and said
"I'm your Abba Father"
It's not too much to ask
But it is hard to find
A pure and devoted
Is rare to come by
He came to save the world
My heart to hold
He knew the only wish I had
Now I've got a dad
